This presentation explores the foundational elements of English sentence structure, focusing on phrases, clauses, and sentence types. A phrase is a group of related words that function as a single part of speech but do not contain both a subject and a verb. In contrast, clauses are word groups that contain a subject and a verb. Clauses are categorized into independent clauses, which express a complete thought and can stand alone as simple sentences, and dependent clauses, which rely on independent clauses to convey full meaning. These elements form the basis of sentence construction and are essential for understanding more complex sentence structures in English grammar
